Shooting at Dallas gun range leaves 1 dead, suspect in critical condition, officials say

A shooting at a Dallas gun range Friday evening left one man dead and the suspect in critical condition, police said.

Officers responded to the 1600 block of West Mockingbird Lane around 5:20 p.m. A man entered the business and shot another man before turning the gun on himself, according to police. The victim died, and the suspect was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

Police confirmed to KXAS-TV that the shooting took place inside the DFW Gun Range and Academy.

The investigation is ongoing, officials said. Authorities have not released the name of the victim, and the suspect was still in critical condition as of Saturday afternoon.
