When you think of Corvettes, odds are "off-roading" isn't the first thing that comes to mind. Yet, this C5-generation 'Vette, with its modified suspension and gigantic all-terrain tires, can go where no Corvette has ever gone before.

Westen Champlin on YouTube recently picked up this black C5 coupe off of Facebook Marketplace from another YouTuber who built the car for their channel. Aside from the tires and the light suspension mods done to make sure there's not a lot of rubbing, the car is relatively stock. That means a V-8 and a six-speed sending power to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential—no fancy all-wheel-drive tricks here.

Champlin has no trouble charging through rural Illinois backcountry in this Corvette, traversing heavily graveled roads with gigantic rocks that would easily disable a normal C5. He even goes as far as to drive it through a shallow river, where it makes it through without issue. By the end of the video, the car begins to overheat—a likely byproduct of all the sliding and full-throttle pulls. But otherwise, the car survives to live another day. We're glad, because all we want to see right now is more of this Corvette where it was never intended to be.
