Shhhhhhh... Here's Everything We Know About 'A Quiet Place: Day One'
Fans of A Quiet Place can (silently) rejoice! The latest installment of the franchise is on its way.
A Quiet Place: Day One will hit the big screen next year, following the massive success of A Quiet Place (2018) and A Quiet Place Part II (2021). John Krasinski, who directed and appeared in both films, shared a preview at CinemaCon in April—and the hype has only grown since then.
“One of my great joys has been creating and expanding the Quiet Place universe, and I couldn’t be more excited for this next installment,” Krasinski told audiences at CinemaCon, according to a Variety report. Set in a world where sound is lethal following the invasion of creatures that hunt by hearing, both movies were smash hits. Praised by critics and fans, the first film was even lauded by horror maestro Stephen King.
While Paramount Pictures has kept specifics under wraps, some details have emerged about the forthcoming movie. From plot details to the familiar face fans can expect to see, here is everything we know so far about A Quiet Place: Day One.

Denis O’Hare
Denis O’Hare is best known for his supporting roles in Milk (2008) and Dallas Buyers Club (2013). In 2003, he won the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Play for his role in the original Broadway run of Take Me Out. He is also known for his frequent appearances in the American Horror Story (2011-present) anthology series.

Djimon Hounsou reprises his role from A Quiet Place Part II as the Man on the Island. He is best known for his work in Amistad (1997) and Blood Diamond (2006), as well as his roles in both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Extended Universe.

What is A Quiet Place: Day One about?
Unlike the first two films, A Quiet Place: Day One doesn’t follow the Abbott family. Instead, it focuses on Nyong’o’s character in New York City. There, she must work through the first moments of the alien invasion in the notoriously loud city. The movie features the same creatures as the first two films: an alien species that hunts humankind by sound.
Is A Quiet Place: Day One a prequel?
A Quiet Place: Day One is a spinoff prequel to A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place Part II. Both of the previously released films take place after the alien invasion (although the beginning of A Quiet Place Part II shows a flashback to the Abbott family during the initial invasion).
Will there be any other A Quiet Place movies?
A Quiet Place: Part III is slated for release in 2025, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Krasinski made the announcement last year and no additional details have been revealed.
Is John Krasinski in A Quiet Place: Day One?
It is unclear whether John Krasinski will appear in A Quiet Place: Day One. While the first two Quiet Place films were written and directed by Krasinski, who also had a major role in the first film and a minor role in the second, this prequel was written and directed by Michael Sarnoski. That being said, Krasinski still has a "story by" credit and serves as a producer on the film. Since this is a prequel, his character could appear in a cameo, but it seems unlikely that he'd have a larger role.

While Krasinski's wife Emily Blunt starred in both of the original Quiet Place films, she is not the star of this prequel. She may appear in a small cameo, but she is not the lead.
Is John Krasinski directing A Quiet Place: Day One?
Although Krasinski directed the first two movies, he is not directing A Quiet Place: Day One (but he is still attached as a producer and credited for the story). Krasinski has passed the directorial baton to Michael Sarnoski. Sarnoski is best known for his work as writer and director of Pig (2021), starring Nicolas Cage.
