The Canyon County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday issued a warrant for a suspect charged with shooting a man in south Caldwell, west of Boise.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived to find the victim with “multiple gunshot wounds,” the release said. First responders transported the victim to a local hospital in critical condition, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Gabriel Meza, 34, was charged with felony aggravated battery in connection with the shooting, but the Sheriff’s Office has not been able to find him, according to the agency. Meza’s warrant includes a $1 million bond, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office said it “considers Meza armed and dangerous” and advised members of the public not to approach him. Meza is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds, according to the release. He has tattoos on his neck, wrists and hands.
