Sheffield food hall will be Europe's biggest, says operator

A food hall said to be "Europe's biggest" is set to open in Sheffield later this month.

Cambridge Street Collective will launch in the city on 23 May, featuring 20 vendors, bars and rooftop terraces.

Operator Blend Family, which also runs Sheffield food court Cutlery Works, said the venture was "Europe's biggest purpose-built food hall".

Family events, live music and monthly indie markets were planned for the 20,000 sq ft site, the company said.

According to Blend, the food hall was designed as a social and communal destination and would feature "the best up-and-coming food and drink talent".

It will also be home to social enterprise, the Blend Culinary Foundation Community Kitchen.

The food hall will be equipped with a barbecue and sushi dining space, four bars, augmented reality darts, a children's play area, outdoor seating and rooftop terraces.

Vendors will offer food from across the world, including from West Africa, China, Mexico and Pakistan.
