Two passionate vocalists will power the latest concert announced at Outlaw Field in Boise this season.

Brittany Howard and Michael Kiwanuka will perform Thursday, Oct. 10, at the Idaho Botanical Garden’s outdoor venue. Tickets to the 7 p.m. show become available to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday through Ticketmaster for $59.50 general admission. Garden members will pay $54.50 with access to a presale. The opening act will be Yasmin Williams.

Howard burst onto the scene in the early 2010s as the main songwriter, lead singer and rhythm guitarist for Alabama Shakes. The bluesy group won four Grammy Awards before going on hiatus in 2018. She quickly focused on her own career, winning another Grammy in 2019 after releasing a solo album, “Jaime.” Howard’s sophomore record, “What Now,” came out earlier this year.

Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Kiwanuka emerged at roughly the same time as the Shakes — except in the United Kingdom. His third album, “Kiwanuka,” won the Mercury Prize in 2020. “Warm, rich, hugely accomplished and belonging to no one genre but its own, ‘Kiwanuka’ is a masterpiece,” the judging panel proclaimed.

The Howard and Kiwanuka show is the eighth one announced so far at Outlaw Field this year. One of the concerts, Norah Jones on July 26, has sold out in advance.
