She starred on ‘Drag Race,’ ‘Simpsons’ and opera. Now she’s coming to Kansas City

It’s a rare performer who has appeared in “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” “The Simpsons” and Gaetano Donizetti’s opera “The Daughter of the Regiment.” But Monet X Change qualifies, and she will bring her comedy to the Kansas City Improv next week.

Monet was voted Miss Congeniality in Season 10 of “Drag Race,” then won “All Stars 4.” She had a cameo in the Jan. 1 episode of “The Simpsons,” and she will play the Duchess of Krakenthorp in Minnesota Opera’s production of “The Daughter of the Regiment” next month. Late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader-Ginsburg played the same cameo role at the age of 83 with the Washington National Opera.

Monet’s Kansas City Improv show is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Jan. 25. Tickets ($37-$47) and more information at improvkc.com.

Also at the Improv: Steve Trevino, 7:30 and 10:15 p.m. Jan. 20, 7 and 9:45 p.m. Jan. 21, 6 p.m. Jan. 22, ($30-$42; early Friday and both Saturday shows sold out).

Hip-hop artist Jeezy, who played at the Uptown in 2017, will perform Jan. 21 at the Midland.
