‘Shark Week’ 2021: Snoop Dogg, ‘Jackass’ cast, Tiffany Haddish, Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, William Shatner among celebrities taking part

Close encounters with sharks are terrifying — unless someone else is doing the work for you.

“Shark Week” returns Sunday night, giving viewers 45 hours of in-your-face programming around the ferocious fish, and this year’s fin-fest is flooded with celebrity appearances.

Tiffany Haddish, Brad Paisley, JB Smoove, William Shatner, Noah Schnapp, Robert Irwin, Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, Snoop Dogg and the cast of “Jackass” are among the stars taking part.

Now in its 33rd year, “Shark Week,” airing on Discovery and Discovery+ through July 18, is cramming in more hours of programming than ever before.

Discovery’s Shark Week really wants you to know that sharks have two penises

The event will “take viewers to new locations to study and record new shark behaviors that have never been seen on camera before,” Discovery stated in a release.

Here are all the celebrity packed-highlights.

“Crikey! It’s Shark Week”

Sunday, July 11, 8 p.m. ET/PT

Robert Irwin, the teen son of late “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin and star of Animal Planet’s “Crikey! It’s the Irwins,” comes face-to-face with a Great White Shark for the first time ever with shark conservationists Paul de Gelder and Madison Stewart in this special. Just like his dad did with dangerous creatures, he’ll get as close as possible to the fish.

“Tiffany Haddish Does Shark Week”

Sunday, July 11, 9 p.m. ET/PT

The actress and comedian dives into the water with some lemon sharks and tiger sharks. “Not a problem, this ain’t no different from my ‘hood, look them in their beady little eyes and let them know who the boss is — me,” she says in a preview clip.

Jackass Shark Week Special

Sunday, July 11, 10 p.m. ET/PT

Steve-O, Chris Pontius and other cast members of MTV’s “Jackass” embark on a “series of shark stunts that test their bravery and threshold of pain as they put common shark myths to the test with the help of Dr. Craig O’Connell.”

“Stranger Sharks”

Streaming Monday, July 12 exclusively on Discovery+

“Stranger Things” star Noah Schnapp teams up with YouTuber and former NASA engineer Mark Rober to explore “abandoned undersea ruins and man-made artificial reefs searching for the strangest sharks in the ocean.”

Expedition Unknown: Shark Trek”

Monday, July 12, 10 p.m. ET/PT

TV host and producer Josh Gates joins with his childhood hero, William Shatner, who played Captain Kirk in “Star Trek,” “to boldly go where Shark Week has never gone before. The mission: enter shark-infested waters to understand the nature of fear and come face to face with an apex predator.”

Country star Brad Paisley and comedian JB Smoove, best known for playing Larry David’s pal Leon on “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” head to the Bahamas for some odd interactions, including Paisley playing guitar underwater while surrounded by sharks. It’s to “put Brad’s musical talents to the test in shark-infested waters to see how sound can attract or repel sharks.”

“The Real Sharknado”

Wednesday, July 14, 9 p.m. ET/PT

Ian Ziering and Tara Reid, stars of Syfy’s outlandish made-for-tv “Sharknado” film series, join forces with the experts to see if a Sharknado could really happen, including far-fetched plot points like “sharks jumping into boats, circling in tornados, and risking their lives to attack humans.”

“Sharkadelic Summer 2”

Thursday, July 15, 9 p.m. ET/PT

Snoop Dogg “breaks down the craziest encounters, the wildest and most unpredictable reactions to discover if America is once again ground zero for the shark superstorm,” Discovery states.
