Serving up everything you need to know for the 2024 GCTCA Coaches Classic
The Greater Cincinnati Tennis Coaches Association Coaches Classic takes place on Saturday, April 27, bringing teams across the city to 13 locations in the final bang before Ohio High School Athletic Association sectional draws.
The GCTCA will feature 13 flights with four teams each, including high-level matchups that could be state tournament previews.
Before matches kick off bright and early on Saturday, here are some things to know for the Coaches Classic.
What teams are in the 13 Coaches Classic flights? What are the locations?
Four teams make up each flight. Teams are listed in alphabetical order Italicized teams in each flight are the hosts.
Flight A: Indian Hill A, Mason A, Seven Hills A, Sycamore A
Flight B: Indian Hill B, Oakwood, St. Xavier A, Walnut Hills A
Flight C:Mason B, Mason C, Milford, Moeller
Flight D:Cincinnati Country Day, Lakota East, Lakota West, Wyoming
Flight E: Elder, Sycamore B, Walnut Hills B, St. Xavier B
Flight F: Anderson, Mariemont, Springboro, Turpin
FlightG:CHCA, La Salle, Loveland, Oak Hills
Flight H: Badin, Dixie Heights, Ross, Seven Hills B
Flight I: Colerain, Kings, Madeira, Princeton
Flight J:Fairfield, Lebanon, Valley View A, Waynesville
Flight K: Bethel-Tate, Fenwick, Goshen, Talawanda

Who are Cincinnati high school tennis players to watch?
Last season, Sycamore and Seven Hills were the Division I and Division II Ohio Tennis Coaches Association team state champions. The two will meet at Flight A along with Mason and Indian Hill to bring together many previous state placers and qualifiers.
Sycamore teammates Nick Meyers and Nick Choo faced off in last season's third-place match in the OHSAA Division I state tournament with Meyers getting the 6-3, 6-3 win.
Avi Mahajan from Seven Hills has been a Division II state qualifier three times and was the state runner-up last season. Indian Hill senior Jack Pollock was the fourth-place finisher and will be in the flight with teammate and former doubles champion R.J. Poffenberger.
Mason is represented by sophomore Greg Bernadsky, a state qualifier as a freshman, falling in the second round to the eventual state champion.
Outside of Flight A, St. Xavier brings sophomore Carson Dwyer who was one-half of last year's Division I state champion team that defeated Sycamore's Arjun Rajagopala and Andrew Wittenbaum in the finals.
Springboro junior Rishi Dore plays for the Panthers after qualifying for state as a freshman and sophomore.
