Serious injuries reported in Genesee County crash involving tractor-trailer

Three women were injured - with two suffering serious injuries - in a crash involving a tractor-trailer in Genesee County on Wednesday night, according to the Genesee County Sheriff's Office.

The three-vehicle crash occurred around 7:15 p.m. at State Route 77 and Mcvean Road in Darien, deputies said.

A car driven by Brittany N. Smith, 30, of Macedon, Wayne County, was turning left off Mcvean Road and failed to yield the right of way to a northbound tractor-trailer, driven by a 37-year-old from Ontario, Canada, deputies said.

The truck struck the car and one of the three women in the car was thrown from the vehicle and was hit by an oncoming SUV driven by a 23-year-old woman from Erie County, deputies said. Two passengers in the car - Kayleigh Williams, 30, of Rochester and Ariana Dupra, 30, of Fairport - suffered serious injuries. All three were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. Williams and Dupra were listed in critical, but stable condition, deputies said.

The tractor-trailer driver and the SUV driver were not injured in the crash, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies continue to investigate the crash.
