Senior citizens cut a rug at the Guernsey County Senior Center Fall Dance

The Guernsey County Senior Center hosted a fall dance at the center recently, complete with glamour shots, lunch, and live music from the Van Dyne Trio.

The large lunch room at the center had a cleared floor, ready for its senior crowd to cut loose at the annual event. The event was sponsored by the center and the Guernsey County Senior Coalition group.

The coalition consists of nonprofit and for-profit organizations and area businesses including Astoria Place, the Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center, Cambridge Place, Area Agency on Aging Region 9, Hospice and Southeastern Med among others. The group hosts a car wash for seniors and also holds a cleaning supply event by providing cleaning supplies, mops, and buckets to the homemaking department of the senior center.

Guests could have glamour shots taken as well, and many took advantage of the fall backdrop provided for the photos. While some chose to dress for the occasion with Halloween and fall-themed clothes, others mentioned how they specifically had their hair done for the photo session.

Coalition members assisted with providing drinks and snacks and occasionally took to the dance floor to take a spin with the seniors.
