Selena Gomez has been tapped to play a music legend! The Only Murders in the Building star is set to play Linda Ronstadt in an upcoming biopic.

Before the casting news broke, Gomez teased the role on her Instagram Story with a picture of Ronstadt’s memoir, Simple Dreams. Meanwhile, Ronstadt shared the news on her own Instagram Story, writing: "It all started with a simple dream 👀💕."

According to TMZ, the 11-time Grammy winner "personally approved of Selena herself" and feels "like she's the perfect fit." Apart from the two both being singers, Gomez bears a resemblance to Ronstadt, which she has spoken about in the past. During an appearance on On Air with Ryan Seacrest in 2015, Gomez shared, "I always used to get told that I looked like her [Ronstadt] and I started listening to her music because of that."
