Seen that dramatic 'Bridgerton' Taylor Swift cover? Meet the Nashville quartet behind it

Dearest gentle reader,

The friends-to-lovers romance between Colin Bridgerton played by Luke Newton and Penelope Featherington played by Nicola Coughlan portrayed in the Emmy Award-winning Netflix drama, "Bridgerton", isn't the only thing captivating audiences worldwide.

Known for its striking, larger-than-life settings and amorous themes, "Bridgerton" often features modern twists on classical music. One Nashville quartet is shining bright on the global stage, thanks to a classical arrangement which sets the scene during a climatic encounter between this season's protagonists in episode four of the series.

The Atwood Quartet, helmed by husband and wife duo Ben Plotnick and Kaitlyn Raitz, is a Nashville based string quartet collective. They recently made their Netflix debut on the third season of the steamy, regency-era period drama with their classical arrangement of "Snow On the Beach" by Taylor Swift and Lana del Rey.

In the days following the "Bridgerton" season three premiere on May 16, the quartet has gone viral on social media.

"We both arrange the songs for the quartet so we can record them, I just happened to arrange 'Snow On the Beach' for @Bridgerton," said Raitz, the group's cellist, in a Tik-Tok video. Plotnick is the group's violinist. "We've worked so hard for so long to get a song in a show like this and we are truly overwhelmed by your response to it. Thank you."

When they received the call that "Bridgerton" was interested in their cover of "Snow On The Beach," neither of them could believe it, said Raitz in a news release.

“I personally love the show. I knew this season was going to be about Penelope and Colin and when I thought about popular songs that could fit their story line, ‘Snow On The Beach’ was my first instinct," she said. "I’m so glad the folks at 'Bridgerton' agreed!”

Other classical arrangements featured in the new season include "Give Me Everything" by Archer Marsh, (originally by Pitbull, Ne-Yo and Nayer) "Dynamite" by Vitamin String Quartet (originally by BTS) and "Happier Than Ever" also by Vitamin String Quartet (originally by Billie Eilish).

Part one of season three of "Bridgerton" is now streaming on Netflix. Part two will be available to stream on June 13.
