If it seems like this new coffee shop went up overnight in Wichita, that’s because it did

If it seems like the building for Wichita’s first 7 Brew coffee shop went up overnight, that’s because it did.

Well, technically, it went up over the course of a morning.

On Wednesday evening, the space that will hold 7 Brew at 3031 E. Central was an empty plot of dirt with a cement pad. The spot had been home to a building that previously held Liberty Tax Service and Noble House Hawaiian restaurant, but it was recently demolished to make way for the new coffee shop.

But on Thursday morning, passersby might have noticed something unusual: The 7 Brew building, completely intact, was hauled in and plopped down on the space and was suddenly just . . . there. No waiting required.

Arkansas-based 7 Brew is a drive-through-only coffee chain, and in July, it announced its intentions to open its first Wichita shop on the spot near Central and Hillside, which also has as neighbors Starbucks and a new drive-through-only Dunkin’.

The new store is set to open in October and will feature coffee beverages, infused energy drinks, Italian sodas, smoothies and teas. The focus at 7 Brew is fast service, and it’s known for its short wait times. It has 21 locations in Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, South Carolina and Texas.

The chain has said it plans to open more shops in Wichita next year. Stay tuned for an opening date at Central and Hillside.
