SEE IT: Photo appears to show Russian ‘hoarder pounder’ fridge filled with Big Macs as shutdown begins

They’re lovin’ it.

A social media photo appearing to show a refrigerator in Russia filled with Big Mac burgers from McDonald’s is being widely circulated — and commented on — as the fast-food giant shuts down its operations in the nation.

“McDonald’s is permanently closing in Russia,” the photo caption reads. “Here is my friend’s stash.”

The picture, which was posted Wednesday, seems to show dozens of Big Macs in their wrappers alongside other items that’s packaging is adorned with letters from the Russian alphabet. McDonald’s announced Tuesday that it would temporarily close its 850 stores in Russia to protest Vladimir Putin’s brutal and unprovoked attack on Ukraine.

In the U.S., a Big Mac sells for $3.99. With sanctions against Russia wreaking havoc on that country’s economy, that translates to nearly 533 rubles.

A hungry 5-year-old placed his McDonald’s order with 911 - and cops delivered it

“There was a place near my high school that sold $0.39 hamburgers and we’d pile in the car after school and order up to 40 of them, too,” recalled one commenter.

Others wondered whether a Big Mac would taste the same if heated up after being refrigerated for an extended period. There were also multiple comments expressing sympathy for the people of Ukraine as Russia’s ongoing invasion wrapped up its second week.

It’s unclear where exactly the photo was taken or how its authenticity could be verified.
