SEE IT: Mother of murder victim lunges at Simone Biles’ brother after his acquittal: ‘She lost a son, so we don’t fault her’

The mother of an Ohio murder victim screamed and lunged at Simone Biles’ brother Tuesday during a caught-on-video courtroom disturbance after Tevin Biles-Thomas was acquitted in a triple homicide case.

The distraught mom screamed “You killed my baby!” as three sheriff’s deputies tackled her before she managed to reach the brother of the Olympic gymnastics champion.

Biles-Thomas’ lawyer said Wednesday his side understood and respected the grieving mom’s reaction.

“She lost a son, so we don’t fault her for reacting way she did. I can’t imagine the amount of loss she suffered. But Tevin had nothing to do with it,” lawyer Joseph Patituce told the Daily News.

“There was only one person sitting at the defense table accused of this crime. I think she probably trusted that the government had it right. But she didn’t see the evidence. I don’t fault her at all for mistakenly believing Mr. Biles was responsible. He wasn’t. That’s why we have trials,” Patituce said.

Biles-Thomas, 26, had been charged with opening fire at a Cleveland house party on Dec. 31, 2018 during an alleged fight that left three people dead: Nineteen-year-old DelVaunte Johnson, 21-year-old Toshaun Banks and 23-year-old DeVaughn Gibson.

Cuyahoga County Judge Joan Synenberg granted a defense motion for acquittal Tuesday, ruling that prosecutors lacked enough evidence to convict Biles-Thomas on his pending charges of murder, felonious assault and voluntary manslaughter, the Associated Press reported.

The U.S. Army soldier has maintained his innocence in the case. His first trial ended in a mistrial last month after the jury inadvertently received legal paperwork they were not supposed to see.

“This is a very real tragedy for Tevin as well,” Patituce told The News, confirming Gibson was Biles-Thomas’ cousin.

“I think a lot of people are overlooking the fact Tevin was charged (in connection with) the death of his cousin. He wasn’t ever responsible for this,” he said.
