See who made our star-studded Bucks County area high school Boys Basketball all-area team

Picking the Courier Times/Intelligencer all-area boys basketball team is always challenging. With so many quality candidates to choose from, we have to make some difficult decisions.

Here is our 2023-24 selections, listed in alphabetical order:

First team

Jalil Bethea, Archbishop Wood, senior

Our repeat player of the year, the Miami-bound Bethea finished his career as Wood's all-time leading scorer with 1,693 points. He also became the school's first McDonald's All-American, earned Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year honors and was a two-time Philadelphia Catholic League MVP. The 6-4 Bethea averaged 22.7 points, 7 rebounds and shot 88.3 percent from the foul line this season.

Jake Cummiskey, CB East, senior

A repeat first-team selection, the 6-3 Cummiskey propelled the Patriots to their fourth consecutive SOL Colonial Division championship by leading East in scoring for the third straight season with a 16-point average. He finished his career as CB East's No. 2 all-time scorer (1,325 points), trailing only 1992 graduate Brian Penecale (1,360).

Tristen Guillouette, George School

The 6-9 Guillouette averaged 19.2 points, 10.5 rebounds and shot 59.9 percent from the field for the Cougars after playing two years at St. Joseph's Prep. He had 29 points and 11 rebounds in a victory over Rocktop Academy. He's committed to Florida Gulf Coast University.

Kirby Mooney, William Tennent, senior

A repeat first-team selection, the 6-3 Mooney averaged 23.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists for the Panthers, who reached the district playoffs in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2003-04 and 2004-05. He became Tennent's all-time leading scorer, finishing his career with 1,431 points.

Josh Reed, Archbishop Wood, senior

The Drexel-bound Reed more than doubled his scoring average from 9.2 points as a junior to 18.9 points this season. He shot 60.7 percent from the field, led the Vikings with 8.3 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game, and helped Wood again reach the PIAA state semifinals. The 6-3 Reed and Wood tied for the best record during the Catholic League regular season (11-2) and he averaged 20 points in PCL games.

Bryce Rollerson, Germantown Academy, junior

The 5-11 Rollerson averaged 22.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.1 steals and shot 47.9 percent from the field for the Patriots. Rollerson's 26.6-point average in 10 Inter-Academic League games is the third-highest, single-season total in Inter-Ac history. He surpassed 1,000 career points as a junior.
