See which area girls golf programs qualified for next week’s state championships

Several Midlands girls golf teams qualified for the state golf championships on Monday.

In Class 5A, Chapin, Blythewood, Lexington and River Bluff made it through the qualifying tournaments. AC Flora qualified in Class 4A.

Chapin (310) finished second in Class 5A Upper State while defending state champion Blythewood (315) was fourth. Dorman (298) won the tournament. Dorman’s Abby Franks and Blythewood’s Caroline Hawkins were co-medalists with 68. Chapin’s Lily Reed Black and Blythewood’s Ella Stalvey tied for 3rd with 70s.

In 5A Lower State at the Links at Stono Ferry, Lexington (342) was second and River Bluff (381) was sixth. Carolina Forest (335) won the tournament and CF’s Mia Gray (72) was medalist. RB’s Caitlyn Gaines (76) was tied for second.

In the Class 4A lower state in Florence. AC Flora finished third to make it to the state tournament.

In Class 3A Lower State, both Swansea and Camden qualified.

The state championships will be Oct. 25-26. Class 5A is at Holly Tree Country Club in Simpsonville. Class 4A is at The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes and Class 3A is at The Hackler at Coastal Carolina.

Medalist: Mia Gray, Carolina Forest 72

Class 4A

Lower State qualifying teams: May River 329; Hilton Head Island 332; AC Flora 345; Myrtle Beach 352; North Myrtle Beach 355; West Florence 370; Bluffton 390

Medalist: Madison Messimer, Myrtle Beach 64

Upper State qualifying teams: Pickens 334; Catawba Ridge 339; South Aiken 345; Eastside 378; Aiken 383; Greenville 388; Easley 400

Medalist: Eileen Zeoli, Catawba Ridge 76

Class 3A
