‘Secure’ hold at Preble High and Danz Elementary has been lifted

GREEN BAY — Green Bay Preble High School and Danz Elementary are no longer in a "secure the building" mode due to an outside community threat, according to the schools' Facebook pages.

Students at Preble will be dismissed and those at Danz will be released on time, according to the posts. Friday is a prescheduled early release day for students.

The Green Bay Police Department is investigating a shooting on the east side near Mills and Village streets, close to both schools. A 16-year-old boy was sent a local hospital for treatment of what police believe are non-life-threatening injuries, according to a department media release.

No arrests have been made, and police are searching the area for a suspect or suspects.
