Section V wrestlers compete in state wrestling championships; 10 reach semifinals

Wrestlers from Section V and all over the state began Friday to work their way through the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Championships in Albany.

A total of 52 wrestlers from schools in Section V earned spots in Division 1 large schools or Division 2 weight class brackets. Harrison Aguirre, a senior at McQuaid, qualified but did not wrestle in the Division 1 215-pound tournament.
