Section V boys basketball tournament scores: Monroe moves on in Class A

The Section V boys basketball postseason is underway.

There are six tournaments, separated between Class AAA and down to Class D, will determine which teams advance to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association tournament in March.

Aquinas is Class AAA's top-seeded team. Unbeaten Greece Athena (20-0) owns the Class AA No. 1 seed. In Class A, perennial champion East High is the No. 1 team.

Section V Championship games are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 1 and 2, at Blue Cross Arena.
