Lexington police have arrested a second suspect in connection to a July homicide.

Justin Brown, a 26-year-old Louisville resident, was arrested at the Sportsman Motel on Winchester Road Wednesday, according to his arrest citation. He faces charges of murder, first-degree burglary and first-degree wanton endangerment, according to court records. Courtney Wrenn, 33, was previously arrested in July and also faces murder, burglary and wanton endangerment charges along with a charge of possessing a gun as a felon.

The shooting happened July 13 in the 300 block of Michigan Avenue, according to police. Stacey Marshall, 31, was shot several times and later died at a hospital, according to court documents.

An anonymous tip identified Brown as a suspect, court documents say. There were also multiple cameras at the residence where the shooting occurred which captured Brown at the scene.

Video footage showed three other suspects forcing their way into a home on Michigan Avenue while firing guns, according to court documents. Brown followed behind the three suspects.

Brown was later seen on camera running out of the home with one other suspect, court documents say. A car pulled up from the direction where Brown was seen running to and picked up the other suspects. Marshall was also seen fleeing the home.

Two of the suspects fired more shots at Marshall while fleeing from the home, according to court documents.

Police declined to comment on whether additional people could face charges from the incident.

The shooting was the 12th homicide in Lexington this year. There have been 14 total homicides in 2023.

Both men were being held at the Fayette County Detention Center Thursday, according to jail records.

Brown is expected to make his first court appearance Monday afternoon. Wrenn is due back in court Aug. 31.
