Second fatal motorcycle crash reported this week; rider dies in York city: coroner

A motorcycle rider died Tuesday in a crash with a tractor-trailer in the City of York, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

The name of the victim has not been released. The coroner is trying to notify next of kin, a news release states.

This is the second fatal motorcycle crash in York County this week.

The coroner responded around 3:31 p.m. Tuesday to the scene of the crash in the 600 block of West Philadelphia Street at Belvidere Avenue, the release states.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was in the right lane on West Philadelphia Street and was attempting to make a left turn onto Belvidere Avenue. The motorcycle rider was in the left lane and went down, sliding underneath the tractor-trailer, the release states.

York City Police are investigating the wreck.

An autopsy is planned, the release states.

Second fatal motorcycle crash in York County this week

Timothy Rymer, 60, of Newberry Township died Sunday evening after his motorcycle went down after striking a piece of wood on the road, the coroner's office reported earlier this week.

The crash occurred in the area of Old York and Blair Hollow roads in Carroll Township.

Carroll Township Police are investigating the wreck.
