Seacoast Roundup: St. Thomas senior Gaynor fans 11, hurls Saints to 15th win

DOVER - Abbie Gaynor struck out 11 and allowed five hits over seven innings as the St. Thomas Aquinas softball team ended the regular season with a 4-0 win over Raymond in a Division III game.

Gaynor and Elizabeth Pelletier each homered for the Saints, while Amelia Anderson and Sammie Neal each had one hit. St. Thomas Aquinas finished the regular season with a 15-1 record.

DURHAM - Kate Michaud had two hits, including a two-run homer as Oyster River won this weather-shortened, 5-inning Division II game.

Addy Veno, Maddy Veno, Gracy Spirito, Maeve Hickok, and Morgan Trela each had a hit for the Bobcats. Addy Veno struck out three and allowed three hits over five innings, earning the win.

KITTERY, Maine - Quinn Alessi, Chris Balano, and Jack Downs each had a hit for Traip in this Class C South loss.

PLAISTOW - Nolan Rennie had two goals and Noah Andronaco had 24 saves as Winnacunnet earned this Division II win.

Tim Kollmorgen and Lukas Botnick both had a goal and an assist for the Warriors, while Beckett Rath and Spencer Ziegler both scored.

Hillsboro/Deering/John Stark 1

DURHAM - Tyler Callender had two goals and Jake Failla had one for Oyster River in this lightning-shortened Division II game.

Alex Moody had one assist for the Bobcats, while Cole Levesque was 5-for-6 at faceoffs, and goalie Cole Norris had two saves.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Marshwood 8

FALMOUTH, Maine - Sarah Theriault had five goals and Maddy Poitras, Eva Hersey and Hadley Prewitt all had one for Marshwood (5-7) in this Class A loss.

Poitras added three assists, while goalie Makayla Coy had four saves.

DERRY - The Red Raiders got swept in this Division I first-round match. The match was called when all three doubles were in action due to thunderstorms.

It was the first time in 18 years Spaulding had qualified for postseason play.

FALMOUTH, Maine - Hanna Hodges and Nellie Young won 3-6, 6-4, 10-4 at No. 3 doubles for Marshwood's lone win in this Class A South match.

York 4

Freeport 1

YORK, Maine - Sophie Pike (No. 1, 6-2, 6-2), Artie Krebs (No. 2, 6-0, 6-2) and Riley Barron (No. 3, 6-4, 6-1) all won in singles for York in this Class B South match.

In doubles, York's Amelia Gregory and Emily Cyr won 7-5, 6-3 at No. 1.
