Seacoast roundup: Exeter's Christiana scores on walk-off; York's Fitzgerald hits for cycle

EXETER - Annie Christiana tripled in the 10th inning and scored on a Summer LeClerc bunt as the Exeter High School softball team walked off with a 2-1 win over Concord, the defending Division I state champions, on Wednesday.

Exeter is now 12-3 on the season, while Concord is 13-2.

Christiana tripled in the third inning and scored on a LeClerc infield single. Concord tied the game in the fifth.

Chrisitiana had four hits for the Blue Hawks, while LeClerc had two, and Dejah Rondeau, Mykenna Whittier, Lila Smith and Madi Paige all had one.

Exeter's Edy Crawford scattered eight hits and allowed one run over 10 innings, earning the win.

MANCHESTER - Lilly Snow had two hits and four RBIs, Halisa Carter had three RBIs, and Arden Langmaid and Maeva Shapiro both had two RBIs for Winnacunnet (13-2) in this Division I game.

The Warriors scored 11 runs in the second inning, and eight in the third. The game ended after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

DOVER - Sami Taylor had three hits and two RBIs, Emma Toriello had two hits and three RBIs, and Caitlyn Flynn had two hits and two RBIs as St. Thomas Aquinas improved to 13-0 with this Division III win.

Sarah Flynn, Alaina Bolduc, Elizabeth Flynn and Abbie Gaynor all had two hits and an RBI for the Saints.

WOLFEBORO - Addy Veno had two hits, Kate Michaud had an RBI single and Maeve Hickok had a single for Oyster River (11-3) in this Division II loss.

GRAY, Maine - Sophomore Maddie Fitzgerald hit for the cycle and had three RBIs for York which improved to 11-0 with this Class B South win.

McKayla Kortes added four hits, including three doubles for the Wildcats, while Sarah Orso had three hits, and Ella Hickey, Nya Avery and Emily Estes all had two. Orso struck out 11, earning the win.

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Laurali Shisler's second hit of the game drove in Keira Keaveny with the game-winning, walk-off run in the ninth inning of this Class A South game.

Marshwood's Zoe Carnes had two hits, including a two-run homer in the sixth.

PORTSMOUTH - The Clippers scored all three of their runs in the third inning, falling to 8-8 on the season after this Division I loss.

Gar Hindle had two hits and two RBIs for Portsmouth, while Joe Zingariello and Devin Driscoll both had two hits.

Nate Delaney (hit, run), Zavier Lampert (hit, RBI) and Tucker Huskey (hit) all contributed.

MANCHESTER - The Blue Hawks scored three runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings, improving to 15-1 with this Division I win.

Junior Cam Piwnicki struck out 10 and allowed three hits and three runs over 6 2/3 innings, earning the win.

John Bakker had two hits and an RBI for the Blue Hawks, while Jack Dever had a hit and three RBIs, and Finn Adams had two RBIs.

DOVER - Nate MacGregor and Ryan Sullivan each had two RBIs, leading Dover (10-6) to this Division I win.

Portsmouth girl sets record

CONCORD - Senior Maria Akalonu set a Portsmouth High School record in the discus with a throw of 119 feet, 6 inches at a dual-meet in Concord.

Cathy Ross, with a throw of 117-11, set the previous record in 1983.
