Scrubs creator shares disappointing reunion updateNBC Universal

Scrubs fans got very excited last year when the cast and creator Bill Lawrence got together and announced on stage that they were all up for doing a reunion movie or something similar.

Unfortunately, in a new update, Lawrence has stated that work hasn't really gotten off the ground to make it actually happen.

Speaking to Variety, the TV boss explained: "In the greatest way, the cast of that show and the writers are so good that they’re all working.

"And the main reason to do something like that isn’t the work, it’s because we actually love hanging out."

Still, he thinks that it's "inevitable" that a Scrubs movie will happen, stating: "The joke of it with us is the first time that six months go by that we don’t hang out, we’ll end up doing a Scrubs reunion."

Lawrence previously said that he feels the need to do something because "we’re lucky enough that people care"... and he really wants to get Neil Flynn, who played the janitor, back in a jumpsuit.

The cast remained coy as to what as to what could happen in the reunion when they made their on-stage appearance, but Judy Reyes, who played Carla, did joke that JD (Braff) and Turk (Donald Faison) would finally come out as gay (and, one would assume, be in a relationship).

Outside of the show, Zach Braff's latest directorial effort, A Good Person, has just released in cinemas and comes to Sky Cinema tomorrow (March 28). In an exclusive interview with Digital Spy, he spoke about working with his now-former girlfriend Florence Pugh and the film's mini Scrubs reunion.
