Scott Frost Hit With Penalties: NCAA World Reacts

Scott Frost is entering a make-or-break year at Nebraska. It’s not off to the best start. On Monday, the NCAA announced minor penalties for Frost and the Nebraska football program.

Frost has been hit with a one-year show cause for a violation of NCAA rules on countable coaches.

He’ll also serve a five-day suspension during during the “championship segment” of the 2022-23 season.

Here’s what the college football world is saying about the latest Scott Frost news:

“Penalties for Scott Frost: A one-year show-cause order for the football head coach, plus a five-day suspension from all coaching duties during the championship segment of the 2022 football season,” said Nicole Auerbach.

“Not the way Scott Frost wants to begin a make-or-break year,” Pete Thamel tweeted. “Here are the penalties.”

“Nebraska’s Scott Frost gets hit with a one-year show cause for ‘not appropriately monitor the analyst or notify compliance staff that violations had occurred,'” said Bruce Feldman.

“#Nebraska coach Scott Frost hit with a one-year show-cause order and a five-day suspension this fall as part of penalties program received for violating NCAA rules on countable coaches,” Adam Rittenberg wrote.

“Nebraska football is penalized by the NCAA for having a special teams analyst coach players, and Scott Frost not handling it properly. One-year show-cause and a five-day suspension for Frost,” Chris Vannini tweeted.

Not the best start for Frost entering such a pivotal season.
