Scoring goals and scoring runs: Jackson area spring sports top performers for Week 4

Jackson area spring sports are in their fourth week of competition.

The area's best are playing at a high level in the early going of the spring season.

As we enter the fourth week of the spring season, let's look at the top performers in the area.

MONDAY

Baseball

ADAMSVILLE 6, MADISON 0: Ashton Duke threw a no-hitter with seven strikeouts for the Cardinals while going 2-for-3 with a RBI. JC Gray knocked around three hits with two RBIs.

USJ 11, TCA 0 (4 INNINGS): Nash Kilburn threw a no-hitter for the Bruins and faced the minimum of the TCA lineup before rain shortened the game. Brayden Jones hit a home run for the Bruins in the second inning.

CHESTER COUNTY 4, HARDIN COUNTY 3: Ryder Harville drove in two runners for the Tigers in the loss.

Soccer

NORTH SIDE 2, DYER COUNTY 0: Colby Jones recorded 12 saves in his first clean sheet as a goalkeeper. Le Zotello and Eduardo Zuniga each scored a goal for North Side.

Softball

WESTVIEW 13, ATHENS (Alabama) 7: McCall Sims, Annelise Hayden and Alexis Evans each hit a home run to lead the Chargers to a win in the Southern Warrior Classic in Murfreesboro.

CREEKWOOD 9, WESTVIEW 8: McCall Sims and Alexis Evans each hit a home run in the close loss to hit two home runs on the day.

SOUTH GIBSON 15, JACKSON CHRISTIAN 0 (3 INNINGS): Lydia Hall and Cameryn Hays each had two hits and two RBIs in the win while Annie Whittemore and Hallie Allen each had two RBIs. Kaylie Ballentine added two hits. Addison Mogren allowed one hit and struck out one in the 2 1/3 complete game effort.
