The Scorecard: This week, there is crying in sports. Plus, March brings new strength for women’s sports fans.

Jason Kelce gave us the retirement speech of all retirement speeches.

It was the announcement we all saw coming, since the Philadelphia Eagles season ended in January. But, boy, did Jason Kelce exceed expectations. In an emotional tribute to the city of Philadelphia, the Eagles organization, his brother Travis, and his wife Kylie, Jason had the world in tears.

Then, New Heights, the podcast the Kelce brothers share, made us cry all over again with a clip of Travis discussing his thoughts on Jason’s retirement.

Oh, and the Cleveland natives were honored at halftime of a Cleveland Cavaliers game this week, where they smashed a beer chugging contest. They really do it all.

March is Women’s History Month…and what a month the first week has been.

March kicked off with Caitlin Clark announcing she’d be entering the WNBA draft, followed by her shattering the NCAA single-season scoring record previously held by Pistol Pete Maravich, which she did in front of a national TV audience that eclipsed even NBA season-openers.

Clark had a pretty classy response after breaking the record, check it out here.

Then, MLB announced they would be adding women to MLB: The Show 24. An announcement that came with a little backlash, but was swiftly shut down by supporters.

Even a sports bar in Minnesota is catering to the rise in fandom for women’s sports. ‘A Bar of Their Own,’ opened its doors on March 1, with a commitment to women’s sports.
