Schneider, Hollis-Brookline advance to play Bedford in volleyball final

Nov. 2—Maia Schneider recorded her 150th career ace, leading second-seeded Hollis-Brookline to a three-set victory over No. 6 Portsmouth in a Division I girls volleyball tournament semifinal on Wednesday night.

The Cavaliers, who prevailed by scores of 25-15, 25-22 and 25-17, will meet top-seeded Bedford for the crown on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Pinkerton Academy.

Schneider finished with eight aces and ended the night with 156 for her career, qualifying for the New Hampshire Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. She added nine digs.

Annette Schlunk (10 kills), Lolly Adair (seven kills), Kate Berrigan (six kills), Anika Carlson (six kills) and Libby Getter (31 assists) also starred for Hollis-Brookline (18-2).
