Is 'Schitt's Creek' Finally Getting a Reboot or Movie?

Bébés, don't toast your fruit wine just yet, but there's hope for more Schitt's Creek in the future. Series producer Andrew Barnsley revealed to The Messenger that a reboot or movie is something creators and stars Dan and Eugene Levy are "considering all the time." Although he didn't have "any update" on when fans could expect a possible reboot, Barnsley acknowledged the "demand and interest" for it. "...I think it's going to be a timing thing," he said.

Is there going to be a Schitt's Creek reboot?

There's certainly a lot of chatter around a Schitt's Creek reboot, but at this point neither has been confirmed. In 2021, Dan Levy told Parade that he felt it "might be a little early" for there to be a Schitt's Creek reunion.

"We only got off the air like a year ago. So I feel like a reunion might be a little early," he explained. "I think you need to let the dust settle on something in order for people to really kind of miss you."

"I would say anything that's going to happen in any kind of effort to bring people together isn't going to happen for a minute," he added. "We're gonna just wait a beat and hope for a good idea to cross my mind and hopefully, then we can start the conversation."

Annie Murphy, who played Alexis Rose on the show, has previously told Parade that she's crossing her fingers for more Schitt's Creek. "If you want to start writing strongly worded letters to Daniel [Levy], I encourage it," she said in 2021. "I miss everyone so much. So, yeah, fingers crossed."

Is there going to be a Schitt's Creek movie?

A Schitt's Creek movie has not been confirmed, but it's one of the spinoff iterations Dan and Eugene Levy have actively considered, according to series producer Andrew Barnsley.

Still, while the show's creators "love the world," Barnsley also pointed out that there is some fear around bringing it to the big screen. "Does it tarnish the legacy to go back [and] revisit them in the way that maybe the Entourage movie did?" he said in an interview with The Messenger.
