Scenes from Ridgeland High School Veterans Day celebration

Ridgeland High School hosted a Veterans Day program Friday morning ahead of Saturday's observation of Veterans Day to honor all people who have served in the nation's armed forces.

The school hosted a breakfast/meet-and-greet in the high school library with Ridgeland High School students, Ridgeland High School JROTC, several faculty members and many guest veterans, past and present, from the community.

Ridgeland High School students then continued to honor veterans with patriotic performances by their choir and their orchestra, presentation of the colors by the JROTC color guard, the Pledge of Allegiance and a video presentation.

Speakers were Patriot Guard Riders member and USMC veteran, Justin Moudy and US Army Maj. Curwin Burk. Justin Moudy's talk was titled, “Who are the Patriot Guard Riders?” Maj. Curwin Burke spoke on things such as what it means to serve as a military member.
