'Scary’ Mastiff’s Cute Bath Routine Immediately Goes Viral

Does your pooch enjoy getting a bath? Our new puppy loves hopping in the shower, and it seems that Goodlin Siblings dog Bridget enjoys it too! They shared a video of the Mastiff's bath routine, and it definitely gives spa day vibes!

The video was posted on Saturday, March 16th, and starts with Bridget getting in the shower. She sits like a good girl, then the routine begins. From getting a good shampoo to getting her nails done, she seems to enjoy every minute of it...especially when she gets her teeth brushed! Make sure that you have your sound on if you enjoy ASMR!

Talk about a spoiled pup! She was so relaxed and chill throughout the whole thing. The Goodlins' video went crazy viral, and it's been viewed more than 46 million times, has nearly 6 million likes, and 42 thousand comments...people loved Bridget's bath experience! @Grace Catchpole received 54 thousand likes for her comment, "Mine HATES baths and as you know you can rarely make a Bull Mastiff do anything." And I couldn't help but laugh at @Haku who said, "Then you should see me trying to bathe my “cute and kind” Pomeranian!"

Fun Facts About Mastiffs

Mastiffs are big dogs and most often recognized for their size and strength. Did you know that their standing height can reach upwards of three feet and that they can weigh between 130 and 220 pounds? If you're a fan of big dogs, Mastiffs are definitely a breed worth considering. According to Forbes, they're the biggest dogs around.

Although Mastiffs are big and 'scary' looking as the Goodlins said, they are actually gentle giants who are affectionate and love to cuddle. My parents have a Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff) who weighs about 180 pounds but thinks she's a lap dog! And while they are big lovers, it's not recommended to have a Mastiff around small children, simply because of their size; just imagine an almost 200-pound dog bumping into a toddler.

Mastiffs are also fierce protectors and make great guard dogs. They're not known to be big barkers, and when they do bark people tend to run the other way. They do drool a lot and snore loudly, so you might want to invest in some ear plugs if you plan to have a Mastiff sleeping anywhere near you!

Grooming a Mastiff is easy, and doesn't require much more than a weekly brushing, wipe down with some cleaning cloths, and an occasional bath. They do tend to shed due to their short, dense double coat but running the vacuum regularly will cut down on having hair everywhere.

A drawback for some people is that Mastiffs are very big dogs which means they don't live long; most Mastiffs live an average of 8-10 years.

If you are considering a Mastiff, make sure to do your research because there are pros and cons that come with any pet. These dogs really are big teddy bears and are a joy to have around...except when they try to hop in your lap!
