The woman who was saved from railroad tracks in Pickens County before an officer was struck and killed by an oncoming train was charged with aggravated breach of peace Thursday.

The State Law Enforcement Division announced the charge against Gabrielle Alexis Benites, 25, of Easley.

The arrest warrant alleges that Benites was intoxicated and laid across active railroad tracks. The warrant also alleges she was trespassing.

Easley Police Officer Matthew Hare, 22, died after he was struck by an Amtrak passenger train Wednesday morning. Benites and Hare’s partner were unharmed.

Benites on Facebook is shown with photos of her daughter, who was born in June. A friend described Benites as suffering from postpartum depression.
