This SC restaurant has the best dining view in the state, travel website says. Take a look

Of all the restaurants in South Carolina, Sea Captain’s House in Myrtle Beach had the most mentions of “beautiful view” in TripAdvisor reviews, according to travel website Hawaiian Islands. See for yourself what some diners say are the best views in South Carolina.

Up to half of diners come to Sea Captain’s House for the view, said general manager David Thurber. Located off of North Ocean Boulevard, the 1930’s beach house has been welcoming diners for over 60 years.

They serve seafood, including shrimp and grits and she crab soup, along with daily breakfast. Sea Captain’s House’s website has a live webcam of the Grand Strand beach, as seen from the restaurant.

The Captain’s Room, slightly elevated with windows on two sides, is highly requested, according to Thurber. Visitors can also see the ocean from the outdoor patio and shaded porch.

Adele Bennett and Marie Bennett-Stout of Tennessee were seated in the Captain’s Room, which was mostly empty at 2:30 p.m. on a Monday.

While munching on hush puppies, the sisters-in-law explained that they returned to Sea Captain’s House for lunch after a seafood dinner the night before.

“We just requested the table by the window by the beach,” Bennett said.

Bennett-Stout added, “I need an unobscured [view], you know, don’t have anything to block your view.”
