SC has 3 of the best budget-friendly honeymoon destinations for 2023, new ranking shows

Three South Carolina locales were recently ranked as some of the best destinations in the nation to have a budget-friendly honeymoon. One Lowcountry island even made the top three.

HoneymoonAlways.com, a travel blog focused on travel destinations, commissioned a survey of 3,000 couples, which identified the top 150 beautiful yet budget-friendly honeymoon destinations.

With the mounting expenses expected for new couples, it can be hard to plan a future while catching up with the growing costs each milestone brings.

Planning for a wallet-friendly honeymoon can let couples begin their married life in a less stressful manner with a romantic getaway that won’t break the bank.

First of the three South Carolina destinations, Edisto Island was ranked third in the country.

Edisto Island is full of exciting activities to try, such as Botany Bay Plantation Heritage Preserve and Wildlife Management Area, Edisto Beach State Park, Driftwood Beach, the serpentarium, farmers markets, golf cart rentals, trails and more.

The island is a charming coastal haven that is renowned for its untouched beauty, with miles of pristine beaches, lush marshlands, and ancient oak trees draped in Spanish moss, the honeymoon travel site states.

“Edisto Island offers affordable vacation rentals and cozy bed and breakfasts, providing comfortable accommodations for honeymooners on a budget. The island’s local seafood restaurants and casual eateries serve up delicious Lowcountry cuisine at reasonable prices, allowing couples to experience the rich flavors of the region without overspending,” the site states.

Next, Greenville was ranked 50th for budget-friendly, yet beautiful, honeymoon destinations.

Greenville is full of attractions to visit and sites to see, such as museums, segway tours, ziplines, nature walks, ropes courses, cocktail tours and more.

Lastly, Beaufort landed 10 slots down in 60th out of the total 150 selected destinations.

Beaufort has ample tours of differing subjects, places of historical significance, natural beauty to explore, a historic downtown waterfront park, museums and more for honeymooners to enjoy.

The City of Beaufort is also located between Charleston and Hilton Head Island for those who wish to explore more of the Lowcountry during their romantic stay.
