Savannah Chrisley insists the name she has her new boyfriend filed under in her phone’s contacts list is “just a joke.”

The Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley podcast host explained the genesis of the nickname to her brother, Chase Chrisley. Their conversation was part of a new episode that dropped Tuesday, Jan. 9, titled “The Chase Chrisley Chronicles.”

The siblings both starred on their family’s former reality TV series Chrisley Knows Best before their parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, were found guilty on bank fraud and tax evasion charges. After discussing their struggles with the holidays following their parents’ incarceration and the recent passing of Savannah’s ex-fiancé, Nic Kerdiles, Chase appeared to catch a glimpse of his sister’s phone screen.

“Do you have Robert in your phone as ‘Daddy’?” Chase, 27, asked, referring to Robert Shiver. Savannah and the former football player went public with their relationship last fall.

Savannah, 26, began laughing at the question. “It’s just a joke!” she said, going on to explain that Shiver is listed in her phone as “Robert ‘Daddy’ Shiver.”

The nickname stems from a meme that was trending on Instagram, Savannah explained. The meme in question jokes that, after an initially polite meeting, a new boyfriend will later tell his girlfriend’s father, “She calls me ‘Daddy,’ too.”

“Dad’s going to be fresh out the pen,” Chase joked. “He should not do that.”

“I think it would be hysterical,” Savannah said. “But it’s an inside joke.” She clarified that she doesn’t actually call Shiver “Daddy” outside of her phone’s contacts list.

“I’m physically ill, seeing that on your phone,” Chase told her.

Savannah confirmed her relationship with Shiver through a series of photos posted on Instagram last November. But her father wasn’t immediately ready to meet the new beau.

“Dad is very against [the meeting],” Savannah told Entertainment Tonight shortly after she and Shiver were Instagram official. Her father was hesitant because he didn’t want Shiver to see him in prison, Savannah said.

Todd and Julie began serving time behind bars about one year ago. As Savannah and Chase discussed during the podcast episode, the 2023 holiday season was the first celebrated without their parents since they’d been sentenced.
