Saturday Roundup: Sheridan girls stay perfect at CITC

Girls Basketball

Sheridan 54, Fort Loramie 42: Jamisyn Stinson drilled six 3s on her way to 20 points as the Generals (12-0) led 29-23 at the half and pulled away in the second half at the Classic in the Country.

Stinson also had six rebounds, Nora Saffell contributed 12 points and five assists and Halle Warner scored 11 for the winners, who face New Albany at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the Classic in the City at Pickerington Central.

Avery Brandewie had 11 points, and Victoria Mescher and Jaden Rose added 10 points apiece for Fort Loramie.

Harvest Prep 56, Tri-Valley 43: MacKenzie Harvey had three 3s as part of a 15-point effort for the Scotties (9-4), who led 22-16 at the half in the loss at the MLK Showdown at Central Crossing.

Maddie Garber chipped in 13 points and Karlee Rose made three 3s for nine points for Tri-Valley.

Israelle Smith poured in 23 points, and Maliyah Lofton and Adjoa Acheampong had 12 points apiece for the Warriors, who used a 24-8 third quarter to take a 40-30 lead to the fourth.

John Glenn 61, Morgan 45: Riley Zamensky poured in 30 points as the Muskies (10-3, 6-2) raced out to a 25-6 first-quarter lead in downing the Raiders (5-8, 4-5) in a Muskingum Valley League crossover.

Mya Oliver tallied 15 points for John Glenn, while Gianna Myers led Morgan with 14 points and Ellie Parsons and Chloe Baker added eight points and Baker grabbed five rebounds.

Aubrey Larrick finished with 14 points as John Glenn reserves won 54-29. Faith Saxton had nine points and Alaina Sigman eight for the Muskies. Allia Rush scored 11 for Morgan.

River View 57, Crooksville 52 (2OT): Bridgette Bible finished with 15 points, and Kylie Miller added 14 as the Lady Bears (2-12, 2-7) outlasted the Ceramics (2-11, 1-8) in MVL play.

Brynn Lundell and Lexi Van Meter collected 17 points apiece for the Ceramics, who trailed 35-24 going to the fourth. The game was tied at 42 at the end of regulation and 49 through one OT.

Crooksville reserves won 36-20 as Dalena Rollison had 12 points. Kylie Miller had six for River View.

Ridgewood 62, Sandy Valley 55: Kat Kelley collected 23 points, and Kierston Latham tallied 12 as the Generals (10-2, 6-2) picked up a key Inter-Valley Conference win.

Meadowbrook 38, Maysville 34: The host Colts collected their third consecutive victory with the MVL victory over the Panthers.

Junior Emma Webster pumped in 19 points to pace Meadowbrook (5-4 MVL, 5-6), with senior Kenli Norman added six points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

"Emma is really starting to give us a big boost offensively," Meadowbrook head coach Chris Miles said. "Kenli picked up 10 rebounds and Taylor Sichina played a really solid game on defense."

Freshman Avery Daniels led Maysville (2-8 MVL, 4-8) with nine points, while senior Jerzei Blackketter chipped in with eight.

Boys Basketball

Rosecrans 71, Fisher Catholic 50: Grady Labishak scored 24 of his 38 points in the second half, as the Bishops (8-3, 5-1) outscored the Irish 35-17 in the second half for a victory in Mid-State League Cardinal Division action.

Xander Daniels added 14 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double, Labishak made six 3s, grabbed six rebounds and passed out six assists and James Goggin added four assists for the Bishops, who made 11 of 23 behind the arc and 25 of 46 field goals.

Peyton Owens scored 14 and Hyde O'Rielley and Sam Tencza chipped in 13 points each for Fisher Catholic.

Buckeye Trail 64, Caldwell 45: The visiting Warriors (10-1) used a 24-8 second quarter to build a 39-18 halftime lead and take down the Redskins.

Senior Charlie Parry led Trail with a game high 10 points along with eight rebounds, with junior Mason McQuain contributed nine points off the bench. Senior Donovan Geiger, junior Travis Dodd and freshman Kyer Eagon each contributed eight points for the winners.

Junior Carter Wheeldin and sophomore Guiler Preston each tallied nine points to lead host Caldwell (2-8), with sophomore Dylan Schott chipped in with seven markers.

New Lexington 50, KIPP Academy 36: Bentley Hanson finished with 22 points, including three 3s, five rebounds and three blocks, as the Panthers (12-2) built on a 21-16 halftime lead to earn the victory.

Isaiah Stephens contributed 14 points, six rebounds and three assists, Paul Stenson scored nine to go with five rebounds and four assists and Jerek Braglin also had four boards and three assists for the winners, who made 20 of 48 field goals.

Jonathan Amos had 13 points and Jaysen Quartey nine for KIPP, which went 15-of-44 from the field.

Licking Heights 63, Zanesville 44: The Hornets (9-2, 6-0) used a second-quarter surge to down the Blue Devils (3-6, 2-3) in Licking County League Buckeye Division play.

Rashaud Hampton finished with 18 points, and Greyson Goines chipped in nine to lead Zanesville, while Bryce Cahill had 13 points, Alieu Ceesay added 12 points and Ezra Bobo scored 11 to pace the Heights' attack.

Wrestling

Philo second at Alexander Invite: The Electrics finished with 204.5 points to place behind Athens, which had 226.

Talan Bailey scored an 11-2 major decision to win the title at 157 pounds for Philo; Bradley Spencer earned a 10-2 major decision in the finals at 165 and Logan Niceswanger was first at 190 with a 12-3 major decision for Morgan; and Hunter Browning won the title at 144 with a pin in 3:57.

Ryan South (106) and Landon Gill (285) placed third, Andrew Philip (138), Gibson Swartz (175) and Dakota Kinney (215) were fourth and Robert Dorsey (132), Griffin Swartz (144), Jack Lincicome (165) and Brayden Bernard (190) came in fifth as 10 Philo grapplers placed.

Morgan was sixth (114.5) and Crooksville seventh (102.5). Tanner Bankes (157) and Owen McCoy (215) came in fifth for the Raiders, while Christian Browning (132) and Jacob Hammer (150) finished second and Jonathon Love (113) was fourth for the Ceramics.

John Glenn, Sheridan compete in Bill Dies Invite: The Muskies were 12th (94) and the Generals 13th (85) in the 30-team field.

Cohen Bunting (175) placed third, Owen Edwards (144) came in fourth and Kian Barton (215) took fifth for John Glenn, while Jacob Householder (150) was fourth and Cash Owen (106) and Bryer Stenson (126) were fifth for Sheridan.

Coshocton fifth at Fredericktown Invite: Severeign Workman picked up a 5-0 decision in the finals at 215 and claimed the only titles for the Redskins, who scored 136.5 points.

Marcus Smitley (144) and Julian Rivera (285) placed second, Brandon Watts (150) came in third and Caiden Griffiths (120) was fifth to highlight the Coshocton effort.
