Sarah Cooper, known for lip-synced Trump videos, lands Netflix special

Sarah Cooper, the comedian who set the internet on fire with her lip-synced videos of President Trump’s most absurd ramblings, has scored a Netflix special, the streaming service said Wednesday.

“It’s true!” Cooper chirped. “I’m getting a Netflix special!”

The show, titled “Sarah Cooper: Everything’s Fine,” will premiere globally in the fall and focus on subjects including politics, race and gender, according to Netflix.

The California-based company said the actress Natasha Lyonne will direct the special, and that “Saturday Night Live” star Maya Rudolph will executive produce along with the writer Paula Pell and the filmmaker Danielle Renfrew. Cooper and Lyonne will also serve as executive producers.

In April, Cooper struck comedy gold with her lip-synced bit culled from the bizarre coronavirus briefing where Trump suggested injecting light and disinfectant into patients. (Trump later claimed his comments were sarcastic.)

Her solo skit went viral, hauling in more than 200,000 retweets.
