San Francisco woman allegedly assaulted by man who then stole her puppy

A California woman claims she was attacked by a man who then stole her puppy while she was out walking her two dogs last week.

Sarah Vorhaus alleges the man, dressed in a hoodie and face mask, twice told her to give him the dog and showed her a gun, before he punched her in the face two times near her home in the San Francisco area on Jan. 5, according to SFGate.

“Then he grabbed Chloe’s leash, put her in the car and took off,” Vorhaus told the news outlet.

“I started screaming as loud as I’ve ever screamed in my entire life. My nose was gushing blood. Apparently, someone on Nextdoor posted that a woman is screaming bloody murder outside.”

Chloe is a 5-month-old French bulldog. Vorhaus was also walking an 8-year-old shiba inu at the time of the alleged incident.

The San Francisco Police Department said in a report that two other people were believed to be outside the car, with a fourth driving the vehicle.

Vorhaus now plans to leave San Francisco after the alleged assault, and hopes to be reunited with her dog.

“I would have given him so many other things, but not Chloe,” Vorhaus told SF Gate.

“Thank God, they didn’t take our other dog,” she said. “We think the most important thing is to build as much awareness as possible. And then maybe someone will buy Chloe and see that it’s her.”
