Sam’s Club Has a $20 Williams-Sonoma Copycat That’s Perfect for Summer Entertaining

Spring and summer are the seasons for setting our tables with beautiful, colorful glasses, plates, and more. They're also the seasons of finding inspiration for doing so at some of the major home goods stores and then discovering inexpensive copycat versions to fit your budget.

Looking for a pretty glass pitcher to serve margaritas or lemonade from? Aldi recently had a hobnail pitcher that looked similar to one sold at Pottery Barn for one-third of the price. Want the colorful beaded old-fashioned glasses from Williams-Sonoma that cost $48 for six, but that's out of your budget? Again, Aldi was the place to find copycat versions that cost $9.99 for four.

Aldi isn't the only place to look for budget versions of this season's trendy tableware. You can also look at warehouse clubs such as Sam's Club. This month, Sam's Club has a bamboo melamine 12-piece dinnerware set giving total Williams-Sonoma vibes.

Sam's Club Outdoor Melamine Dinnerware Set

Williams-Sonoma has a Sicily Blue Melamine Dinnerware Collection that’s very pretty. Its designs have the blues and yellows often associated with Italian ceramic plates and serving bowls, but those designs are on shatter-resistant melamine.

Melamine tableware can look like ceramic, but it’s much more durable. It’s a great option for dining outdoors when you don’t want to risk carrying breakable plates outside. It’s also a smart choice for families with children not old enough for breakable plates. It’s food-safe and top-rack dishwasher-safe.

A single dinner plate from the Williams-Sonoma collection is $14.95. The entire Sam’s Club set of 12—which comes in various colors and patterns—is $19.98. It includes four dinner plates, salad plates, and cereal bowls. If you want the Williams-Sonoma vibe, choose the "Navy" colorway.

The dinner plates are solid blue, but the salad plates have similar designs to the Williams-Sonoma version (including lemons). The pieces in the Sam’s Club melamine collection are not exact replicas, but they’d definitely give your dinner table the same Southern Italian feel as the Williams-Sonoma dinnerware. We can picture this tableware out on the deck in summer, full of a Stacked Tomato and Burrata Salad or Shrimp Scampi with Pasta.

Whether you’re on a budget or simply don’t want to spend a lot of money on trendy tableware that may not be trendy next year, Sam’s Club’s bamboo melamine tableware is a great choice.
