Saltgrass Steak House debuts in Indiana. Where to find the Certified Angus Beef steaks

Saltgrass Steak House has arrived in Indiana.

The brand, known for its Certified Angus Beef brand steaks, opened its first restaurant in the Hoosier state in Mishawaka on Thursday.

Steaks at the restaurant, at 5126 N. Main St., are char-grilled on an open flame, topped with fresh garlic butter and seasoned with Saltgrass-7 steak spice.

What's on the menu at Saltgrass?

The menu also features fresh seafood, chicken, burgers, sandwiches, salads, baby back ribs and double-bone pork chops, along with house-made soups, salad dressings, bread and desserts.

Striving to evoke a country farm home vibe, the spot has warm wood furnishings, leather seating, and memorabilia from the Saltgrass Trail, along which cattle were driven when headed to market after grazing on Texas Gulf Coast saltgrass in the mid-1800s.

The Houston, Texas-based brand, owned by Landy’s Inc., has 95 locations in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.

Saltgrass Mishawaka hours

The Mishawaka restaurant is open 4-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 4-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
