With a steady deluge of cloudy skies and rainy weather hitting the East Coast, it might be easy for some people (a.k.a. me) to forget that summer is just around the corner. Allow Salma Hayek to remind us.
On Wednesday evening, the star made a head-turning appearance in Venice, Italy, where she attended an opening dinner for the city’s 60th Biennale Art. A known lover of sequined gowns, Hayek continued her bejeweled love affair in a majestic ocean-blue strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline. The sequins glittered in the light, not unlike a cresting sunset sparkling against the backdrop of a sea, and extended down into a playful hemline made up of a row of sequined tassels that swiveled as she moved.
Hayek finished off the look with some black staples, from a pair of towering platform heeled sandals to a tailored cropped blazer. She also smiled wide in photos with husband François-Henri Pinault, CEO of Kering.
By now, the Frida star is probably used to delivering a fashion statement while decked out in sequins.
She recently relied on the shiny material while walking the red carpet for the Oscars after-party in March, where she showed up in an incredible one-shouldered silver sequined gown from Gucci. Aptly, she coordinated the dress with even more silver jewelry.
At the previous year’s Oscars ceremony, she also repped Gucci sequins, in the form of a blazing blood-orange halterneck gown with a sultry keyhole cutout and a skirt covered in fringe.
