Salma Hayek Shares Rare Home Video in Honor of Daughter's Big Birthday
Salma Hayek showed off her daughter on her big day, with Valentina—whom she shares with husband François-Henri Pinault—turning 16 years old. To celebrate the milestone birthday, the actress shared rare home videos showing Valentina growing up over the years.
Hayek posted the nostalgic clips on her Instagram feed on Sept. 21, with videos of a young Valentina singing and hanging out with her parents and friends playing alongside "Everywhere" by Fleetwood Mac. The personal post also featured photos of the family throughout Valentina's upbringing.
The 57-year-old wrote an earnest note in the caption, gushing, "Today my baby turns 16 and my heart is bursting with love, pride and gratitude for the day you were born. Keep shining your beautiful light shamelessly my lovely girl, even if it blinds the fools."
"For those of us fortunate enough to have you in our lives, thank you for making us stronger with your courage," Hayek went on. "For filling our lives with laughter and joy with your wicked wit. For challenging us to grow with your depth. And for inspiring us with your soulfulness every day."
The actress concluded, "Happy sweet 16th, Valentina; may this be the sweetest year yet!."
Many famous friends wished the teenager a happy birthday, with Anthony Hopkins writing, "Happy Sweet Sixteen Valentina. We love you ❤️," while Zoe Saldana said, translated from Spanish, "Happy birthday Valentina beautiful and blessed!!! We love you so much baby."
Supermodel Linda Evangelista also commented, "Happiest birthday Valentina ♥️✨🎈✨♥️✨🎈✨♥️." Valentina is half-siblings with Evangelista and Pinault's son Augustin, who turned 16 last October.
Earlier this year, Hayek and Valentina shared a fun mother-daughter moment as they both wowed on the Oscars red carpet. While Hayek appears to keep her personal life rather private, every once in a while she takes a moment to celebrate and flaunt her family.
