Sally Field Has the Best Reaction to One of Her High School Cheerleading Photos

Sally Field, 76, has been in a number of female-led shows and movies, from The Flying Nun to 80 for Brady, but it seems she should've been a part of Bring It On, because the veteran actress used to be a cheerleader before her acting career took off.

Field recently stopped by The Kelly Clarkson Show with her fellow 80 for Brady co-stars, and while there, the host ended up pulling out a photo from Field's cheerleading days. “Oh, good God in heaven,” the Mrs. Doubtfire actress said in a hilarious reaction as the photo was projected to the audience.

Clarkson pulled out this photo due to the sports focus at the center of 80 for Brady. In the film, Field stars alongside Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Rita Moreno as four lifelong friends who travel to watch the New England Patriots play in the Super Bowl.

During the interview, Field talked about her time as a cheerleader, saying, “I didn't know any women went out for sports. [Cheerleading] was it. That was the sport I knew of.” Her co-star, Tomlin, noted that she was a cheerleader in high school as well.

In the black-and-white photo, Field is seen flying in the air and smiling as she arches her back and poses.

Almost immediately after graduating from high school, Field would land the role of Frances Elizabeth "Gidget" Lawrence in the TV sitcom Gidget.

The Emmy-winning actress commented on this as well, pointing to the photo and saying, “That was before [Gidget], that was in high school. I wasn't Gidget yet, but she lived inside me.”

While we're sure you were a talented cheerleader, we're glad you went the acting route, Sally.
