The New Orleans Saints (4-4), are fresh off a 38-10 victory against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8, bringing them back to the .500 mark. In Week 9, the Saints will be hosting the Chicago Bears who are struggling with a 2-6 record.

In Week 8, the Saints scored a season-high 38 points and Derek Carr started strong with an 18-yard touchdown pass to Alvin Kamara just before halftime. Carr completed 19 out of 27 attempts for 310 yards and two touchdowns against the Colts.

The Chicago Bears are facing issues with their quarterback as Tyson Bagent, who made his second start for the Bears in their last game against the Los Angeles Chargers, completing 25 of 27 attempts for 232 yards with three interceptions and no touchdowns. Justin Fields, the Bears' starting quarterback, is still recovering from a thumb injury and is considered week-to-week. In the meantime, Bagent will continue to start for the Bears.

Meanwhile, according to the Athletic, the Bears are also dealing with the distraction of running backs coach David Walker being fired over his workplace behavior. Walker was the Detroit Lions running backs coach from 2016-2018 before joining the Bears in 2022.

The Saints are favorites to beat the Bears at the Superdome in the Week 9 matchup.
