Rylie Cassette racks up six goals, two assists for Huron soccer

ANN ARBOR – New Boston Huron scored a lot of goals in Thursday’s 8-0 win over Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard and Rylie Cassette had a hand in all of them.

“Rylie Cassette was exciting to watch as she out-paced, out-worked and out-maneuvered anyone who was trying to stop her,” Huron coach Matt Lividini said.

Brooke Burke recorded her sixth shutout with Addison Dolencic and Maggie Warden leading the defense.

Shay Carpenter and Maggie Mentzer, scored the other goals, Miley Skamiera was credited with two assists and Melissa Mentzer, Ava Banko and Warden one each.

Ida blanks Dundee

DUNDEE – Goals by Rylee Weatherholt and Clare Allen led Ida to a 3-0 win over Dundee Thursday.

Rilee Schaffer had an assist and Brooklyn Swanbeck recorded the shutout for the Blue Streaks.

“I was very happy with our team’s performance,” Ida coach Tim Allen said. “The goalies for Dundee played very well with numerous saves.”

No. 2 team stops Monroe

MONROE – Ann Arbor Skyline, ranked No. 2 in the state, pinned a 7-0 loss on Monroe Thursday.

Allie Younglove was strong in goal for the Trojans and Gabby Willis, Bella Reed, Zoe Leach, Ally Marcerro, Alexis McMahon and Aubrey Cowan played well.

Bedford blanked

DEXTER – Kami Morse, Brookelyn Horton and Lexi Ripple played well for Bedford in a 4-0 loss to Dexter Thursday.

PREP GOLF

Feudi is medalist

TECUMSEH – Summerfield freshman James Feudi earned medalist honors with a 41 in the second Tri-County Conference jamboree of the season Thursday.

Summerfield shot 202 to take second in the team standings and Whiteford was third with 205 behind champion Lenawee Christian took (192).

Summerfield’s Eli VanHuysen shot 47 for the fifth-best score of the day. Jacob Salenbien added a 53 and Teddy Gault a 61.

Cade Schober (48) Adam Linkey (49), Jess Saylor (50) and Hunter DeBarr (53) were the top four for Whiteford.

Erie Mason finished sixth with 229 with Nicolas May (57) and Brooklyn Langenderfer (58) leading the way.

Monroe in middle

MONROE – Monroe shot 171 Thursday at Carrington Golf Club to finish behind Adrian (162) and Ann Arbor Skyline (186).

Brenden McCullouch led the Trojans with a 1-under-par 35 and Aiden Coury added a 39.

PREP SOFTBALL

Aulph leads sweep

MONROE – Alana Aulph homered in the first game and was the winning pitcher in the second as Monroe swept Dundee 6-1 and 11-1 Thursday.

“We played our best two games of the season,” Monroe coach Jim Davis said. “We’re starting to gain confidence as a team.”

Soffia Elmer went 2-for-3 with two RBI to support the pitching of Avery Collett in the first game. Eloisa Reyes racked up three hits and three RBI in the nightcap, Avery Leach logged two hits and scored three times and Ava Proffitt had three RBI in the second game for the 7-7 Trojans.

Mason scores 25

EVERGREEN, Ohio – Abbi England went 3-for-5 with five RBI and four stolen bases to key Erie Mason’s 25-8 rout of Ottawa Hills Thursday.

Zoie Stubleski also recorded three hits and five RBI. Winning pitcher Raelynn Lay was 2-for-2 with a pair of RBI for the 7-1 Eagles.

Auler leads Carlson attack

GIBRALTAR – Ava Auler went 3-for-3 to lead a potent attack that carried Gibraltar Carlson to a 17-2 win over Lincoln Park Thursday.

Taylor Konkus, Lauren Dunwoody and Izzy Salas all were 2-for-2. Hailey Sandusky earned the win with relief help from Avery McAuliffe.

PREP BASEBALL

Big hit for LaRocca

CONCORD – Tyrus LaRocca came through with a clutch two-run single as Summerfield slipped past Concord 5-4 in the second game of a doubleheader Thursday.

The Bulldogs dropped the first game 5-2.

Other standouts for Summerfield were Reece Kalb, Rylee Schiffler, Keegan Sieler and Allen Roof.

PREP TENNIS

Carlson doubles sweep

TRENTON – Gibraltar Carlson swept the doubles in a 7-1 win over Trenton Thursday.

Taking the doubles matches were Brooklyn Roldan-Delaney Boller, Madison Jacobs-Lila Angelos, Sarah Pente/Necole Sendry and Chloe Hales/Aliyah Newman.

Adyson Brake, Erin Riley and Rylie Sulewski ruled the first three singles flights.
