Ryan Switzer's 9-month-old son stable, to make full recovery after surgery
After multiple surgeries and hospital stays, Ryan Switzer’s 9-month old son is going to make a full recovery.
The Cleveland Browns wide receiver shared the update on social media on Monday afternoon after his son, Christian, came out of surgery at a Boston hospital. He had been in and out of hospitals all month with significant bleeding issues after testing positive for COVID-19.

Christian was first admitted to the hospital on March 6 after Ryan and his wife, Gabie, found him, his diaper and crib soaked in blood just a day after he had tested positive for the coronavirus.
He underwent surgery and received several blood transfusions during that initial stay, but had to return to the hospital 10 days after he was discharged with more bleeding issues. Christian was then transferred to a hospital in Boston.
While it’s not clear what surgery Christian underwent or what the source of the bleeding was — he tweeted earlier on Monday morning that the “surgeon on our case assured us they found what they’re looking for in order to operate” and had “located what’s been a mystery” — the good news is that Ryan says he is set to make a full recovery and that the "nightmare is over with.”
Ryan, 26, is set to enter his fourth season in the league this fall, and first with the Browns. The Dallas Cowboys selected him out of North Carolina in the fourth round of the 2017 draft, though he spent the past two seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He signed onto the Brown’s practice squad after the Steelers waived him last season.
