Ryan Reynolds' Production Company Has People in Tears with New 'Bluey-Inspired' Zillow Ad

Bluey is an absolutely adorable children's TV show that really is also for adults because it's one of those rare magical children's shows that their parents can actually stand to watch. I'm an early adopter of Bluey and I was watching this show when it first aired in 2019 and having to explain to all the other adults in my household why I was cackling over an animated TV show about a dog family. Now Bluey is everywhere, and there are even social media groups dedicated to adult fans of the series. On April 14,“The Sign,” aired, which was the extra-long Season 3 finale, and about the Heeler family’s decision to sell their Brisbane home.

It made everyone cry. And because Ryan Reynold's production company Maximum Effort is always on the ball with running with social media trends, they created this adorable spot for Zillow which is almost as tear-jerking as the Bluey Episode.

In the above ad we hear the voiceover, done by none other than the voice of Bluey's uncle Stipe, Dan Brumm, narrates the sweet commercial to help viewers see why moving doesn’t necessarily have to be a heartbreaking thing.

The commercial voiceover says, "At Zillow, we know that a home is more than just floorboards and window sills. A home is where memories are made. And despite how a certain children’s show made us all feel recently, moving into a new home might just be a good thing. A chance to make new memories, a fresh start, a whole new chapter.”

The ad then shows all the adorable dogs in the ad looking forlorn and the voiceover says, "Don’t you look at me like that. Ugh, come on guys, you’re killing me here!”

The commercial may not be as tear-jerking as the Bluey episode, but it certainly is adorable!

So what do you do to help your pets if you have to move? Here are some helpful tips.

How To Prepare Your Pet for a Move

Moving can be stressful and hard for all family members, including your pets. 

Try and keep your pet's schedule to as close to normal as possible, feed them at the same time, walk them at the same time, and provide them with lots of affection.

When you get to your new address, secure your cats in one room (an interior bathroom, not a guest bathroom but one that is attached to a bedroom is usually best) with their food, water, litter box and a soft blanket. That way you can make sure they don't sneak out when boxes and furniture are being moved in.

Pet-proof your new home by removing any potential hazards and ensuring that fences and gates are secure for outdoor time for your dog. If you can take them for a walk around your new neighborhood.

After you get everything moved in, show your pet where the food and water dishes live, and for your cat, where their litter box is.

Understand that it may take some time for your pet to adjust to their new house. Offer plenty of patience, love, reassurance, cuddles and playtime during this transition period.
