Lemley comes to Lakewood from Vincent Warren Local High School in Washington County, where he has served as assistant principal and principal since 2013.

He was selected from a total of 20 applicants for the high school principal position. Applicants were interviewed by the superintendent, other administrators, and several members of the Lakewood High School staff.

Through his time at Warren, he has extensive experience in evaluating certified and classified personnel, working with employees from multiple labor unions, planning professional development based on staff needs, ensuring the enforcement of discipline and attendance policies for the high school, developing emergency operations plans for the high school, developing positive relationships with parents, neighboring schools and the community, and maintaining high academic standards.

Before working at Warren, Lemley spent 15 years as a social studies teacher and coach for Racine Southern Local Schools, also serving as athletic director for two years.

He also hosts a podcast with colleague Ryan Werry called “Ryan & Ryan: Education Today.”

“I am thrilled to join the Lancer community,” Lemley said in a Lakewood press release. “I believe my passion for education, combined with my proven track record of driving positive change, overseeing multiple initiatives, and fostering a culture of learning, will help lead Lakewood High School into an exciting new chapter. With all the change coming to this area, I’m eager to work with staff and students to highlight our unique educational offerings in this county.”

Lakewood superintendent Dr. Mark Gleichauf said the district is confident that Lemley is the right fit to lead the high school.

“He highlighted his successful experience as a high school administrator through the interview process. He also engaged positively with all stakeholders, students, Lakewood High School staff and district administrators during the process," Gleichauf said. "I am excited for Lakewood High School as his leadership tenure begins. He will be a great addition to our strong Lancer team.”

Lemley earned his bachelor degree in Secondary Education from Ohio University and his masters degree in Classroom Teaching with a focus in Athletic Leadership from the University of Rio Grande. He also earned his Educational Leadership Certificate from Salem International University.

He enjoys spending time with his wife Katie and children, stepchildren and grandchildren. He is also a sports fan and an automotive enthusiast.
